We run a certified teacher
training programme in four areas:
Pregnancy Yoga
Postnatal Yoga
Baby Yoga
Active Birth
Baby Yoga Training
This course consisting of two intensive training days, and a follow up
'apprenticeship' to one of our tutors, who will provide comprehensive
support and guidance to set up and run your first classes (this is usually
done by email - you are not required to travel to Cambridge after the
initial weekend course). The course provides a comprehensive training
in safe baby yoga postures for babies, breathing and restorative work
for new mothers, and will introduce baby friendly postnatal yoga. Suitable
for existing yoga teachers, qualified infant massage instructors, and
other healthcare professionals working with babies. After completion of
the intial training weekend, the trainee will then be guided through the
process of setting up a class in their area over four weeks with guidance
and feedback (by email) from the tutor. Teachers will qualify after successful
completion of these four weeks as trainee teachers. Entry qualifications
deemed suitable are at the discretion of the teacher training board. The
course is certified, and qualifying teachers (and trainee teachers while
training) will be fully insured to teach baby yoga under our group insurance
scheme.

Pregnancy Yoga Training
The course offers a comprehensive training in yoga for all stages
of pregnancy, and covers adapted yoga postures, breathing and meditation
techniques, plus how yoga can help women to prepare for childbirth and
motherhood. After completing the weekend training, you are then guided
through the process of setting up a class over four weeks with support
from your tutor in planning. After completion of the training weekend,
the trainee will then be guided through the process of setting up a class
over four weeks with guidance and feedback from the tutor. teachers will
qualify after successful completion of these four weeks. The course consists
of two intensive training days, and a follow up 'apprenticeship' to one
of our tutors, who will provide comprehensive support and guidance to
set up and run your first classes. You are encouraged to attend our tutor
classes as often as possible as part of your training, but this is not
a requirmentand you are not required to travel to Cambridge after the
initial weekend course.

Postnatal Yoga Training
A one day course. The course is a very useful module for yoga teachers,
as it brings an understanding of the needs of postnatal women. As well
as training in suitable postures, breathing and restorative work for mothers
from 6 weeks to a year or more after having a baby, this course will introduce
baby friendly postnatal yoga. Suitable for existing yoga teachers with
experience of yoga asana, pranayama and meditation. Qualifications deemed
suitable are at the discretion of the teacher training board. The course
is certificated, and qualifying teachers will be fully insured to teach
postnatal yoga under our group insurance scheme.

Active Birth - an introduction to teaching.
A two day introduction to teaching. Suitable for midwives, health
professionals, yoga teachers and anyone interested in natural childbirth.
This course will teach you how to help women to find and trust their instincts
in the birthing process. An important part of active birth, is the managing
of the birth environment, in particular allowing the birthing woman privacy,
silence, and space to birth how they want to. This course aims to provide
physiological information that supports this environment for childbirth,
and will help you to advise women how to achieve this, either in hospital
or home birth. The couse will also discuss movement, breathing and birthing
positions for the various stages of labour and childbirth, as well as
look at pregnancy as a whole.
